1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Transit246 (the "Service"), operated at transit246.com and through the Transit246 mobile application (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Transit246 ("we", "us", or "our"), based in Barbados.

2. Description of Service

Transit246 is a public transportation information platform for Barbados. The Service provides:

• Bus route information and stop locations
• Real-time bus tracking (where available)
• Route planning and trip navigation
• Arrival time predictions and schedules
• Community-driven stop reporting and updates
• Advertising services for local businesses

The Service is available via the transit246.com website and the Transit246 mobile application for iOS and Android, where available.

3. Account Registration

Certain features of the Service require you to create an account. You may register using a supported authentication provider (Google, Apple, Facebook, or X/Twitter). New account registration may require a referral code.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep your account information current.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Submit false, misleading, or spam reports about bus stops or routes
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Impersonate any person or entity

5. User Contributions

The Service allows registered users to submit bus stop reports, including location data, descriptions, and route associations ("User Contributions"). By submitting User Contributions, you:

• Grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, display, and distribute your contributions as part of the Service
• Confirm that your contributions are accurate to the best of your knowledge
• Understand that contributions are subject to review and may be approved, modified, or rejected at our discretion

Approved contributions may earn contribution points within the Service. These points have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged or transferred.

6. Transit Information Disclaimer

Transit information provided through the Service, including but not limited to bus routes, stop locations, schedules, arrival predictions, and real-time tracking data, is provided for informational purposes only.

We do not operate any transit vehicles. Transit246 is an information service only.

While we strive for accuracy, transit data may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Bus schedules, routes, and stop locations are subject to change by transport operators without notice. Real-time tracking depends on vehicle equipment and network conditions.

You should not rely solely on Transit246 for time-critical travel decisions. Always allow extra time and confirm important transit information directly with the relevant transport operator.

7. Location Services

Certain features of the Service, including nearby stop detection, route planning, and bus stop reporting, require access to your device's location. Location access is optional and controlled by your device settings. You can use the Service without enabling location services, though some features will be unavailable.

8. Advertising Services

The Service includes advertising features for local businesses, including sponsored stops, routes, and map listings. Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their advertising content.

We reserve the right to review, approve, modify, or remove any advertisement at our sole discretion.

9. Intellectual Property

The Transit246 name, logo, and related branding may be used without prior written consent.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including authentication providers (Google, Apple, Facebook, X/Twitter), mapping services, and routing engines. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party services.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Transit246 and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

• Missed buses or transportation connections
• Inaccurate or outdated transit information
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Actions taken based on information provided by the Service

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Transit246 and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your User Contributions.

13. Modifications to the Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Material changes to these Terms will be communicated through the Service or on our social media platforms where possible.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including liability limitations, indemnification, and intellectual property) will remain in effect.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Barbados. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barbados.
